A skilled and amiable group of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy support staff manage the VSM Hospital pharmacy. They are committed to offering both inpatients and outpatients an effective and efficient service. The interdisciplinary team that our pharmacists work with also consists of our consultants, private GPs, resident medical officers, infection prevention and control lead, and devoted nursing staff.

The Pharmacy team at VSM Hospital assists esteemed Consultants and Private GPs by promptly dispensing private prescriptions to outpatients with precision. Our goal is to promptly fill all prescriptions and as a result, patients can typically receive their medication within a quarter of an hour. It is important to note that our pharmacy can only dispense medication for prescriptions written by hospital doctors.

The pharmacy staff collaborates with the ward staff to ensure that patients receive necessary medications during their hospital stay. This encompasses various types of medication such as pain management, anti-nausea, laxatives, and anti-microbial agents to ensure the patient's comfort before and after procedures. For patients who are staying more than one night, a visit from a pharmacist is typically scheduled to review their medication regimen and answer any questions they may have. Upon discharge, the pharmacy will also provide the necessary medication, and the patient will have the opportunity to discuss their medication plan with their discharge nurse.
